Coaching Philosophy

Calvin Maranville PGA

"I believe that golf is a lifelong journey, and I am committed to helping my students improve their game and have more fun on the course"

Practice regularly: The more you practice, the better you will become at the physical mechanics of the swing. But don't just practice your swing. Practice your mental game as well. Learn to stay focused and positive, even when things are not going your way.

Be patient: Golf is a challenging game, and it takes time to improve. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results immediately. Just keep practicing and learning, and you will eventually see improvement.

Stay focused: When you're on the course, focus on the shot at hand and don't let your mind wander. This is easier said than done, but it is essential if you want to play your best.

Be positive: A positive attitude will help you stay focused and motivated. Even if you're having a bad day, try to stay positive and believe in yourself. This will help you play your best golf.

Golf is a game of self-improvement: It is a journey, not a destination. The goal is to constantly be learning and improving your game. Don't get too caught up in winning or losing. Just focus on improving your own game and having fun.

Golf is a game of balance: You need to find a balance between physical and mental toughness, between aggression and patience, between risk and reward. This is a lifelong journey, and there is no one right way to play golf. Just find what works for you and stick with it.

Golf is a game of grace: It is a beautiful game that should be played with a sense of elegance and style. Even if you're not the best golfer in the world, you can still appreciate the beauty of the game.

Golf can get complicated quickly, but I try my best to simplify it for my students. I believe that everyone can learn to enjoy the game of golf, regardless of their skill level. I focus on the fundamentals of the swing and help my students develop a consistent and repeatable stroke. I also teach them how to manage their emotions on the course and stay focused on the task at hand.

Trackman / V1 technology

Trackman

TrackMan can measure a variety of data points, including clubhead speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance, and more. This allows golfers to get a detailed understanding of their swing and ball flight.

V1 Golf

See your swing in slow motion: This can help you identify flaws in your technique and see how they are affecting your ball flight.

TrackMan and V1 technology are two of the most advanced golf training tools available today. TrackMan is a radar-based launch monitor that tracks the flight of a golf ball, while V1 is a video analysis software that allows golfers to see and analyze their swing in slow motion.

Beach City Golf Club in Hermosa Beach, California offers both TrackMan and V1 technology to golfers of all levels. This allows golfers to get the most accurate and comprehensive feedback possible on their swing and ball flight.

TrackMan technology is used in conjunction with one-on-one coaching sessions with PGA-certified instructors. This allows golfers to get personalized feedback on their swing and ball flight, and to identify areas that need improvement. TrackMan data can also be used to track a golfer's progress over time and to see how their swing changes as they practice.

V1 technology is used to analyze golfers' swings in slow motion. This allows golfers to see their swing from a different perspective and to identify flaws in their technique. V1 software also allows golfers to overlay their swings with the swings of professional golfers, which can help them to see what they need to do to improve their own swing.

Together, TrackMan and V1 technology can provide golfers with the information they need to improve their game at a rapid pace. If you are serious about improving your golf game, then TrackMan and V1 technology at Beach City Golf Club is a great option for you.

Here are some of the specific features of TrackMan and V1 technology that are used at Beach City Golf Club:

  • TrackMan:

    • Clubhead speed: This measures the speed of the clubhead at impact.

    • Ball speed: This measures the speed of the golf ball as it leaves the clubface.

    • Launch angle: This measures the angle at which the golf ball leaves the clubface.

    • Spin rate: This measures the rate at which the golf ball is rotating.

    • Carry distance: This measures the distance that the golf ball travels before it lands.

    • Other data points: TrackMan also measures other data points, such as face angle, dynamic loft, and smash factor.

  • V1:

    • Slow motion video analysis: This allows golfers to see their swing in slow motion and to identify flaws in their technique.

    • Overlays: This allows golfers to overlay their swings with the swings of professional golfers, which can help them to see what they need to do to improve their own swing.

    • Data analysis: This allows golfers to see data about their swing, such as clubhead speed, ball speed, and launch angle.

This data is used by the PGA-certified instructors at Beach City Golf Club to give golfers personalized feedback on their swing and ball flight. This feedback can help golfers identify areas of their game that need improvement and to track their progress over time.
